Meet the Team at Dr. Jill J. Gillhooley

Lauren Janks
Office Manager & Registered Dental Assistant

Lauren joined Dr. Gillhooley’s office in April of 2015.

A graduate of Baker College, Lauren is one of our qualified Registered Dental Assistants who quickly took on the roles of office manager. Nowadays, she solely works as Office Manager, popping her head in every now and again as an assistant.

She is certified in CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens and digital radiographs. In addition to her quality care in patient advocacy and support, Lauren is known for her punctual practice skills and ability to jump from one task to another in a timely and professional manner.

Lauren is extremely handy, and has been known for fixing things around the office. On the weekends, Lauren takes special interest in the outdoors, gardening and loves spending time with her husband Joe, their dog Sassy and their families. She enjoys taking on new remodeling projects around the house.

Erica Ashton
Registered Dental Assistant

Erica is one of the highly qualified Registered Dental Assistants, who joined Dr. Gillhooley’s office in 2014. A graduate of Baker College, Erica is certified in digital radiographs, OSHA, CPR, and HIPAA practices. Additionally, she completed several continuing education courses to add her expertise. Erica specializes in practice management and team building around the office.

Outside of our office, Erica switches roles to a devoted mother to her 2 daughters and son. Her three children are her world, and their weekly activities keep her constantly on the go.

Kari Mills
Registered Dental Hygienist

Kari joined Dr. Gillhooley’s office spring of 2000. Kari earned her Associate degree in Science from Mott & SC4 Community College prior to receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Health Education at University of Michigan Flint. Kari is certified in digital radiography, CPR, VELscope® Oral Cancer Screening, ProSelect® Ultrasonic Scaling, Soft Tissue Laser and to give local anesthetic. She also specializes in nutritional counseling, pediatric care, and periodontal therapy, and is known for being the office go-to-person for patient education.

is a firm believer that good service is both skilled and professional, but also friendly and warm. She prides herself on the relationships she builds and maintains with her patients and always offers a gentle touch. When not in the office, Kari loves spending time with her husband, Mike, their two daughters, Haylee and Zoey, and the family dog. She also enjoys playing tennis, rollerblading, dancing, baking, and arts and crafts. Kari is a runner, an animal lover, and a Michigan fan.

Amber Loeschke
Scheduling Corrdinator

Amber joined our team in January 2026.

She will be the first smiling face you see when stepping through our doors or the friendly voice that answers our phones. Amber is known around the office for her willingness to learn any skill and her determination to do every task to the best of her ability.

Originally from Carsonville, Amber moved to the Port Huron area in 2022. Amber graduated from Sandusky Junior/Senior High School in 2021. Outside of work, Amber enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Andrea Wine Cansfield
Facial Aesthetics and Wellness Coordinator

Andrea joined our team in February 2026.

Andrea earned her Bachelors in Communications degree from the University of Michigan. She also holds a Masters in Elementary Education and a post-graduate certification in School Administration. Prior to joining Dr Gillhooley’s office, Andrea was an educator in Port Huron Area School District. In that role, she served as a Kindergarten teacher, reading and math interventionist, Dean and Principal.

Andrea believes relationships with patients drive good service. She enjoys meeting patients, listening to their needs, and educating them on the benefits of our various aesthetic and wellness services.

When not in the office, Andrea spends time with her Mom, adult children and grandbaby, friends, and her two King Charles Cavaliers, Bentley and Finnegan. She serves on the St Clair County Library Board and Friends of the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse Board. She also enjoys cooking, walking, golfing, needlepointing, quilting, and cheering on the University of Michigan and the Red Wings.

Nicole Hammar
Registered Dental Hygienist

Nicole joined Dr Gillhooley’s practice in July 2023.

Nicole was born and raised in Port Huron, Michigan and attended Port Huron Northern High School. She received her Associates Degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from Ferris State University.

Nicole is known for getting to know her patients well, making them feel welcome, and extremely comfortable during their time in her chair. She is positive, gentle and very understanding of her patient’s needs and concerns. Nicole and her wife, Shay, have a daughter, Joanne who is 3-years-old. She and her family enjoy puzzles, board games, playing outside, and walking their dogs - Ultra and Willow.

Daysha Galvan
Dental Assistant

Daysha joined Dr Gillhooley’s practice in 2024.

Daysha was born in Port Huron and has lived most of her life in the Blue Water Area. She graduated from Croswell-Lexington (CrosLex) High School. Daysha is currently completing her pre-requisite courses in order to apply to the dental hygiene program at St Clair County Community College. Daysha has xray certification.

Daysha is known in our office for her sweet smile and her efficient set up of our exam rooms. She often thinks ahead of what is needed and items seem to magically appear where needed. She is kind and welcoming to our patients.

Daysha spends a lot of time with her very large family and her significant other. She enjoys baking treats, cooking meals, rollerblading, artsy hobbies, and reading.

Daysha has two dogs, Big and Houston, and one cat, Hendrix.
